Hot Sulphur Springs to Walden Colorado

Aloha Everyone,
Let's see we did about 63 miles today and a good little bit of climbing to go with that. We crossed the Continental Divide again today #2 at 9635 ft. When we woke this morning it was so cold I did not want to get started we had to wait until 7am to find a breakfast place open, and it was warm and toasty inside. By 8:30am it had warmed up alot and we were on our way. Cruising along enjoying the Colorado scenery, if any of you ever need suggestions for a scenic route through this state I would be more than happy to share this route with you. For us biking sometimes we have a shoulder to ride on and sometimes we don't this morning we did. Then when we went on 125 North we thought for a second it was a gravel road and were like oh no.. but this was the road to the landfill and ours was paved. As soon as we headed North we started climbing at a gradual pace for quite a while. We passed the Colorado River and just really enjoyed the scenery. We stopped for an energy bar and kept climbing. We reached the top of our second pass after about 31 miles into our day and it wasn't too bad. There were some motorcyclists there so we talked for a while and cruised on into Rand hoping for a place to eat but there was not but there was a cute store and he had drinks and snacks, I got popcorn that looked like corn on the cob and a coke, this gave me a sugar rushed which was good because we had a nice headwind for the last 22 miles of the ride. We pulled into Walden and are relaxing now before doing a little laundry and finding a place to eat.
So until next time keep the rubber side down and enjoy the ride,
Lisa

Hi Lisa! Sounds like Colorado is beautiful. I've always wanted to go there. Thanks for the picture of the Continental Divide, I always wondered what it would be like. Went to my high school reunion last night, Hazelwood Central - it was fabulous - I was not with the in crowd in high school but that doesn't seem to matter a bit - people are grown ups now and just happy to share memories from that time. If you ever get the chance, I would encourage you to go to yours! Bryan went with me and we really had fun together! Take care, my sister. Love you. Maryann
